Are you a dynamic and responsive person?

Our tenants all have additional support needs, and a secondary mental health diagnosis.​ You will be enabling them to live independent lives.

Other elements of the role:

Support people to make the most of educational, work, voluntary and social opportunities. 

Ensure that tenants needs are met by liaising with community-based services and resources (mental health, social needs, drug and alcohol support etc)

Involve the tenant in everyday household tasks

Complete daily notes for each tenant using our online care logging system.

The Candidate:

You need to be strong, dynamic, and a people person!

Due to the nature of the service users, you will require an enhanced DBS for this role; a new one can be processed for you, however, as this is an urgent requirement, a current DBS on the update service will be highly beneficial to your application.


Shift work

The starting salary is £17,550 per year/£9.00 per hour plus weekend enhancements of £1.50 per hour.

After completion of a 6 monthly probation period, the salary will increase to £18,525 per year/ £9.50 per hour plus weekend enhancements of £1.50 per hour.


This is shift work which will involve some unsocial hours, e.g. early mornings, evenings, weekends and some bank holidays

Purpose of the job

To support the registered manager to provide robust and effective management and compliance of one of our residential services and a Move On service.

Main duties

To work with the registered manager to maintain compliance with all relevant legislation and regulatory guidance. Your key responsibilities will centre on ensuring that the service is run in accordance with company ethos and CQC standards.

To oversee the delivery of high quality, person centred support to all individuals including contribution to development of support plans, risk assessments and review documents.

To support service users to ensure that their physical, social and emotional needs are met, ensuring that they are treated as an individual with their own unique support needs.

To work collaboratively with the registered manager to lead and motivate a dedicated staff team, providing support and regular supervisions to enable their development.

The role may include:

- Medication management and audits

- Health and Safety management and audits

- Induction, supervision, probation reviews, annual appraisals, individual staff development and training plans

- Training, assessing service and staff requirements

- Care Plan / Risk Assessment reviews

- Supporting clients / activities reviews

- Quality assurance regarding service compliance

· To ensure the service meets compliance requirements 

· To work with clients, partner organisations and external professionals in a professional and competent manner, maintaining confidentiality and diplomacy at all times.

Essential criteria

Minimum of 2 years’ experience and a proven track record of successful management of services for individuals with complex needs in a supervisory role.

Experience of working with people with a learning disability or autism.

Experience of Care Quality Commission registered services.

Good IT skills; have technical competence with the Microsoft Office package (Word / Excel / Outlook).

Be numerate and literate to a high standard.

Be able to research information as necessary to fulfil the job description.

Be able to work in an efficient and organised manner, ensuring that deadlines are met.

Have the ability to work unsupervised, be self-motivated and to maintain focus in a challenging / demanding environment.

This post is exempt from the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act (1974) and does require a Disclosure Barring Service (DBS) check. Applicants must be prepared to disclose any convictions they may have and any orders which have been made against them.

Location: Service based - 2 locations within Central High Wycombe

Hours of work: 37.5 hours per week shift work and unsociable hours, and participation in the on-call rota

Residential Support Worker - Adult LD

Supporting our service users with sensory, and behavioural needs in our residential service settings

The Role:

· Work responsibly with the identified and agreed service user support plans and risk assessments

· Ensure the safe administration and storage of medication

· Participate actively in regular supervision sessions with designated members of senior staff

· Liaise in a positive professional manner with external agencies, and families 

· Be proactive in working to organisational policies/procedures

· Support service users in all areas of personal care

· Support service users in structured activities in line with service user plans

· Recognise changes in service user’s physical, social and emotional well-being 

Promote a positive image of autism and learning disabilities


This is shift work which will involve some unsocial hours, e.g. early mornings, evenings, weekends and some bank holidays

Sleep in duties will be required at specific services.

We are looking for people to join our bank team on a zero hours contract so that we can call on you when we need to cover ad-hoc shifts for staff sickness, or holiday.

There may also be other types of leave which we will need to be able to call upon you at short notice to come and work in our services as a relief member of the team.

What we are looking for:

​You do not need experience, but this would be a bonus!

You need to be able to think on your feet and work with a variety of different people with learning disabilities, autism, and mental health diagnosis.
